DataCite Metadata Schema 4.7 — documentation and schema

DataCite Metadata Working Group

A concrete vocabulary for identifying creators, versions, related outputs and rights, useful for studying how a reader can trace a scholarly object.

A question to carry into the reading

What information lets a successor distinguish a work, its translation, its revision and an analysis derived from it?

Read the 4.7 documentation and choose one public work to describe on paper. Record missing fields rather than inventing metadata.

Reading and source

A persistent identifier or a schema-conforming record does not certify truth or quality. The moving kernel-4 alias and version 4.6 are not substitutes for this pinned 4.7 edition. Reading this specification does not commission a Mouseion database migration.
